Job Description



Noticias Telemundo 40 / KTLM is seeking a versatile, engaging, and newsroom-savvy News Anchor to join our team. This position is responsible for the on-air delivery of daily newscasts and for contributing high-quality journalism across all platforms. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who excels in breaking news, thrives in a collaborative environment, and understands the demands of a modern, multi-platform newsroom.

Responsibilities

  • Anchor daily newscasts across television, streaming, and digital platforms , delivering accurate, engaging, and credible content.
  • Present breaking news and special coverage , demonstrating strong ad-libbing skills and sound editorial judgment.
  • Research, write, shoot, edit, and report original stories from the studio and field.
  • Generate and pitch enterprise and community-focused story ideas and contribute actively to editorial meetings.
  • Develop and maintain strong community contacts and sources to identify important and exclusive local stories.
  • Write and produce content for TV, digital, social media, and streaming platforms .
  • Collaborate closely with Producers, Reporters, Assignment Editors, Photographers, and News Managers on daily and special coverage.
  • Maintain an active digital and community presence , including social media, station events, and public appearances.
  • Uphold NBCUniversal’s values, news standards, and commitment to ethical journalism .

Qualifications



Qualifications

  • Fluency in Spanish and English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both languages. 
  • Minimum 5 years of television anchor/reporter experience .
  • BA/BS in Journalism, Communications, or related field , or equivalent professional experience.
  • Excellent on-air presence, writing, news judgment, and live reporting skills .
  • Ability to ad-lib and make sound editorial decisions under deadline pressure .
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop sources and work collaboratively .
  • Ability to participate in public events, community functions, and station initiatives as assigned.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older and have unrestricted work authorization in the U.S.

  • Experience with newsroom leadership or mentoring is a plus.
  • Comfortable moving seamlessly between the anchor desk, field reporting, breaking news, and digital platforms.
